During this Lenten season, First English Lutheran Church is focusing on sponsorship of our missionary in Johannesburg, South Africa, known through her blog as "Joyful in Jozi." Kristen Opalinski is spending her first year of missionary work in this culturally diverse capital city. She is immersed in communication efforts with the neighbors of Lutheran churches in the city and surrounding area. Meanwhile, according to her blog, she is learning about their dynamic cultures. She is especially enthused about the colorful artwork. It seems to reflect the joy and warmth she feels in her relationships with those she is serving.

First English has implemented a special giving effort to raise $6,500 to support Kristen's special ministry for a month. Please visit her blog, "Joyful in Jozi," to learn more about this dedicated and energetic young woman. If you wish, you can join in our giving effort for this worthwhile project by contacting First English at felc@new.rr.com or by calling (920) 231-9890.
