Homeowners and other property owners along Eisner Avenue in Sheboygan could be billed thousands of dollars to help fund a project to rebuild the dilapidated road, considered to be among the worst in the city.

Preliminary figures approved this week by the city's Public Works Committee call for the 56 property owners on Eisner Avenue to be assessed $110 per foot of property they own that borders the street.

That means the owner of an average-sized lot would be billed about $8,000. The amount would be much higher for the apartment buildings and other commercial properties along the road, as those ...
