Vineyards and wineries in Wisconsin no longer are just a novelty.

A state Agricultural Statistics Service survey of the 2011 season shows the grape and wine industry growing at a fast pace, with an average of 9.5 vineyards and 4.8 wineries established annually from 2005 to 2011.

They are not large vineyards, on the whole. More than half were two acres or smaller. ...
