Jeff Saturday, who played center for the Green Bay Packers last season and recently announced his retirement, said the new contract signed by Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco is good news for the Packers' Aaron Rodgers.

Flacco signed a deal that averages around $20 million per year in compensation.

“I am sure he (Rodgers) is happy this number is as big as it is, because he knows he is going to go above it," Saturday said on ESPN's "NFL Live." "If you look at him as a quarterback, what he has done for the team the past three years, I don’t know that there’s been a run quite that good in the history of the NFL …

“He’s making half of what these guys are making. I know the Packers are facing some issues with (Clay) Matthews and (B.J.) Raji coming up as well. So they’ve got some work to do. If I am them, I get him done. You know your team is based around Rodgers, make no bones about it, it’s on his arm every Sunday.”
