As a concealed carry instructor, I read with interest The Post-Crescent's Feb. 24 story on the exaggerated problem of people with orders of protection not surrendering their guns.

First, don't confuse a condition of probation (after a conviction) with an order of protection. Remember, as your story reports, a judge can examine evidence, such as a spouse making claims of abuse, and make a decision without any trial that the alleged abuser can't own a gun for four years.
