The Waupun High School boys cross country team recently earned the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association Academic All-State Award for the 2012 season.

This award is presented to teams that qualify for the WIAA State Cross Country Meet and also meet certain academic criteria. The recipients represent excellence on the course and in the classroom. The teas score was calculated by averaging the top 5 grad point averages of the athletes that competed at the state meet. The Warriors' 3.92 average earned them a tie for 1st place in Division II and a top 5 finish of all three divisions.

Waupun placed 12th at state on Oct. 27 out of 16 teams.
