Who: Fourth-seeded University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (16-14 overall, 9-5 Horizon League) vs. No. 9 UW-Milwaukee (8-23, 3-13) in first round of Horizon League tournament.

When: 7 p.m.

Coaches: UWGB - Brian Wardle (45-47, third season); UWM - Rob Jeter (129-126, eighth season).

Series: The Phoenix leads 28-21 and swept the regular-season series, including a 78-61 at the Resch Center eight days ago. The teams haven't played in the conference tournament since 2000, when fifth-seeded UWM beat fourth-seeded UWGB in the quarterfinals.

At stake: The winner advances to Friday's quarterfinals against either No. 5 Illinois-Chicago or No. 8 Cleveland State.

UWGB update: This is the first time the Phoenix has hosted a conference tournament game since 2010, when as the No. 3 seed it beat No. 10 Youngstown State before losing in the quarterfinals to No. 7 Detroit. UWGB has not reached the championship game of its conference tournament since 1998, when it lost to Butler at Brown County Veterans Memorial Arena. It last reached the semifinals in 2009, when as the No. 2 seed it lost to No. 3 Cleveland State. ... Junior center Alec Brown combined for 51 points, 16 rebounds and six blocked shots in the two regular-season games against UWM, including a career-high 28 points in the Resch Center meeting. ... Tickets for tonight's game were not included in UWGB's season-ticket package but are available at a reduced rate of $11 for adults and $7 for youth.

UWM update: The Panthers haven't played since losing their regular-season finale at the Resch Center on Feb. 26. ... This year was the first time UWM finished in last place in its conference since the 1997-98 season. ... The Panthers have won at least one game in the conference tournament each of the last four seasons. ... Senior guard Paris Gulley scored 19 points in the last meeting against UWGB. In his last two games at the Resch Center, Gulley has combined for 39 points. ... Junior guard Jordan Aaron was the Panthers' lone representative on the Horizon League's all-conference teams announced Monday. He was named to the all-newcomer team. ... UWM announced on Monday it hired Amanda Braun as its new athletic director. Brown worked in UWGB's athletic department from 1999 to 2006. She begins her duties on May 1.
