Let me see if I have this straight. The governor wants to reduce the number of people dependent on government - those 47 percent of us. He therefore rejects federal money for Medicaid so thousands are now off of BadgerCare and must get their own health insurance or do without and risk serious health problems.
On the other hand, he wants the government to help a family making $75,000 pay for their child's private education that has religious affiliations. He wants them to have a choice. Perhaps he isn't aware that right now a parent has a choice of over 30 free public schools in just Green Bay alone. These public schools have demonstrated they are equal to and in most cases provide a better education than the private schools now receiving vouchers.
The governor claims he won't raise taxes. But if this voucher plan goes through, we all will be paying higher taxes to fund our public schools and it will be a direct result of Scott Walker's plan.
From day one the governor's plan has been to divide, conquer, and destroy public education. Everything he does is simply window dressing to cover up his true intentions.
