Whether you’re curious about yoga and have yet to try it out or want to take your yoga practice to the next level, consider hot yoga. Instructors lead the class through poses in a heated room, ideally between 85 and 95 degrees. The goal is to work the body through deep stretches and movements as they flow with the breath, with the added challenge of the heated environment.

Hot yoga instructor Ann Mead leads a one-hour Vinyasa style yoga class at Franck’s Gym in Wausau, 4309 Stewart Ave.

“There’s something so nice about the heat, it lets you stretch deeper,” Mead said. She recommends that participants give it a couple of tries to see if they enjoy doing yoga in the heat.

Mead’s class is from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays. For more information call 715-848-8297.
