A stressful week for Mert and Bonnie Harmsen ended Feb. 26 with a joyous call from the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office telling them that someone found their missing dog.

A few days before Christmas, the Harmsens learned their 10-year-old golden retriever was sick and needed to be put down. After allowing time to heal their emotional wounds, the Harmsens decided last month that it was time for a new addition to the family.

The couple and their daughter Jenny Rens, drove to Ohio on Feb. 16 to pick up a furry, four-legged friend named Jasper. ...
