March 6, 1959 - Lyle Schmidt is National 4-H delegate: Lyle Schmidt, 18, Greenleaf, is one of four 4-H Club members in Wisconsin named to serve as a state delegate at the National 4-H Club Conference in Washington, D.C., June 15 through 18.

Lyle is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Schmidt. His parents and Mrs. George Haen, head leader of the Greenleaf 4-H Club, are to be complimented on the excellent leadership they have given to make the award possible, according to Ernest Ehrbar, assistant Brown County agricultural agent.

Lyle now is in his 10th year of club work. In 1957 he was selected as state and national 4-H dairy winner. He has presented demonstrations at the Wisconsin State Fair and at the National Dairy Congress, Waterloo, Iowa. Lyle also, has been active in the Brown County Older 4-H Youth group and served on the Brown County 4-H Camp staff last summer.
