The Wisconsin Area Music Industry has announced the nominees for its 33rd annual awards ceremony on April 14 at Turner Hall Ballroom in Milwaukee, and Green Bay-area acts are again well represented.
Shaker and the Egg is up for Album of the Year for its self-titled album, and three of its members earned individual nominations: frontman Pat Schorr for Male Vocalist, Alex Drossart for Keyboardist and Seth Jorgensen for Saxophonist.
Annex and Big Mouth & The Power Tool Horns, both previous winners, are up for Hard Rock Band and Big Band/Horn Band, respectively. Also scoring nods are Jazz Orgy, Project Pink and Dead Modern Villains.
Two familiar names across the state, Appleton native Cory Chisel and the Wandering Sons and Sammy Llanas, formerly of The BoDeans, are up for Artist of the Year.
