Winning a second consecutive WIAA Division 1 state championship is what the De Pere High School varsity girls basketball team has been striving for all season.

On Saturday night, the unbeaten and top-seeded Redbirds took a major step toward achieving that goal when they crushed fourth-seeded Green Bay Southwest 49-23 at home to earn their ninth straight regional title.
