Heartbreak, that's what the West De Pere High School varsity girls basketball team experienced Friday night at home, where the Phantoms lost to Bay Conference rival Seymour 35-33 on a last-second shot in the WIAA Division 2 regional semifinals.

It was a bitter end to a strong second half of the season for the fourth-seeded Phantoms.

They had built momentum heading into their first game of the playoffs by downing Denmark 47-41 in overtime during their last contest of the regular season a week earlier. ...
