Letter: Face future because God is in control

Editor: Does the future scare you? I sense that some are worried about the future of our country. Expensive wars, a national debt that is out of control. We have a sluggish economy, an iffy Social Security and the fear of what the new health care law really means for us.

Our government officials are a blessing from God. But, they are not able to solve our problems. The president cannot save us nor can more government aid, programs and money solve the problems we have.

Yet, some in America are relying upon the government to take care of us and all our problems with programs, money and "hand outs."

As we face uncertainty in our lives, in our state, in our country and in our world, don't rely upon government to solve the problems. We can approach today and tomorrow with confidence not because of those we elected. We can face today and tomorrow because of the God of grace who is in control.

Read Psalm 146 to learn how someone faced an uncertain future by relying upon the God - the triune God - who does not change.
