It marks the first time the Falcons have reached sectional play since they won the state championship in 2009.

After all, never before has the duo experienced playing this late into March during their Amherst girls basketball careers.

In fact, Falcons coach Jay Pitt is the only person on the roster and coaching staff who remembers what it's like to play in a WIAA sectional tournament, and that was when he was an assistant coach under then head coach Shelli Haferbecker in 2009. ...
