Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers watches the Bucks play the Clippers in Los Angeles on Wednesday. His facial hair indicates he is not considering a presidential run at this time.
A kid makes a memory. A coach backs his conference. An NBA star applauds a women's hoops icon. An NFL quarterback ponders facial hair. Our weekly - and often strange - journey through the world of sports continues ? one tweet at a time:
The hot topic
A New York high school basketball player finds sudden fame after sinking an improbable, impossible, incredible and inconceivable buzzer-beating heave to lift his team to the Section 1 Class AA championship this past Sunday.
New Rochelle senior Khalil Edney swished a 55-footer - a shot that left his fingertips with just one-tenth of a second remaining - to put the exclamation point on a chaotic sequence that included a pair of turnovers in the game's final 2.9 seconds.
The referees convened. They counted the shot. New Rochelle earned a stunning 61-60 upset victory over Mount Vernon. Edney exploded into a must-interview by the likes of ESPN, CNN and the New York Times. Clips of his shot, or, as it's being called, "The Shot," went viral.
Craziness ensued. So, too, did the tweets:

? My dream was to always be on espn ima be on it tomorrow! - @RealDealJoe11: New Rochelle senior Joe Clarke, who pumped in 30 points in the win.
? Wouldn't wish this feeling on my worst Enemy - @FSB_Boogs: Mount Vernon basketball player Traquan Scales, likely echoing the sentiment of his devastated teammates.
? And a last thought on the New Rochelle miracle flung by goat-turned-hero Khalil Edney: NEVER give up on a play. Not ever.... - @JoshElliottABC: "Good Morning America" anchor Josh Elliott.
? I just want to Coach Basketball!!! - @YoungCrabby: New Rochelle basketball coach Rasaun Young, reacting to the intense media attention and fascination.
? Thank you lord - @KhaliledneyPop: Sudden hoops star Khalil Edney. Amen, to that.

Yes, seriously.
? It's been 100 years since we've had a president with a mustache. Since when did mustaches not matter to the voters?? Smh#muttonchops - @AaronRodgers12: Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. #FF ? someone you should follow
Sports Illustrated senior NFL writer Peter King (@SI_PeterKing): The guy has over one million followers, so perhaps you already follow the Yoda of pro football scribes. If you don't - and you eat, sleep and breathe NFL football - King is must-follow. He offers opinion, tweets links to his content, including his popular "Monday Morning Quarterback" column, shares stories and thoughts from other NFL analysts through retweets and even answers questions posed to him on his account. Of course, he's not 100 percent football, as his tweets suggest:
? RT @nfldraftscout: Jadaveon Clowney is the Andrew Luck of defensive end prospects. Write it down ... I have written it down, Matt.
? MMQB1: Flacco's cap number ($6.8m) in year 1 huge edge for Bal ... Yr 4 ($29m), though--it'll be time to renegotiate.
? Have something in common with @RaysJoeMaddon. We'll both be getting colonoscopies Wednesday. TMI?
