Residents may notice a rotten egg smell and a lot of noise today as crews work to repair a natural gas pipeline leak.

ANR Pipeline employees found the leak in a 6-inch diameter lateral pipeline near the intersection of Lost Dauphin Road and Fox Field Court in Lawrence, according to a statement from Wisconsin Public Service Corp.

Workers isolated the leak and are venting the gas from the pipe so they can make repairs. The venting is taking place near Shirley and Blake roads, east of the Fox River, in the town of Wrightstown. Anyone nearby may notice the gas odor and noise due to repairs.

WPS natural gas customers will not be impacted by the leak or see a break of natural gas service, according to the statement.
