Hundreds packed into the Amherst High School gym Thursday morning in a pep rally before the boys basketball team left for the WIAA state tournament in Madison.

Thursday's game was the first time in 15 years the team made it to state. The high school's football team won a state title in November.

The Amherst marching band set the soundtrack for the day as students, parents and faculty members came out to support the team at about 9 a.m. Thursday. ...
