In January 2011, after being let go from his job as senior editor of antiques and collectibles books at Krause Publication in Iola, Mark Moran could have left his antique expertise in the past.

Instead, he founded Mark F. Moran Appraisals of Antiques & Fine Art and began conducting his own antique appraisal events.

"The response was instantly positive, with more than 250 events booked in less than a year," he said. "It was an idea whose time had come." ...
