Sen. Ron Johnson was among a dozen Republican senators who dined over deficits Wednesday with President Barack Obama.

It was a rare engagement between the Democratic president and Republicans on Capitol Hill, a sign of a new tack in Obama's effort to forge a bipartisan agreement on addressing the nation's deficit and its bulging debt.

But Johnson, an Oshkosh businessman who has been one of Obama's harshest critics, particularly on fiscal matters, seemed unimpressed. ...
