Oshkosh woman, colleagues perform musical benefit for warming shelter

Three music professors from Corpus Christi, Texas, including one from Oshkosh, will be performing a guest recital to benefit the Day by Day Warming Shelter at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 16 at First Congregational Church, 137 Algoma Blvd., Oshkosh.

Playing together for about a year, the CPT Trio consists of Dr. Mary Thornton, trumpet; Dr. Carrie Pierce, cello; and Dr. Shao-Shan Chen, piano. The trio is in Wisconsin to perform at UW-Stevens Point and St. Norbert College in De Pere, and because Thornton is an Oshkosh native and still thinks fondly of her hometown, she wanted to do a recital here. ...
