Police are investigating a report of an attempted robbery at knife point that occurred Friday afternoon in downtown Wausau.

A 15-year-old Wausau boy told police that he was walking to work shortly after 4 p.m. in the area of the Jefferson Street Inn when he was approached by a man wearing a ski mask and holding a serrated knife, according to the mother of the boy, an employee of Daily Herald Media. The man demanded money, the boy said.

The boy told the man that he didn't have a wallet or money, and the man became flustered, pushed the boy to the ground and ran away, according to his mother. ...
