A newly created Wausau vicious pet ban could cause city residents and their vicious animals to seek refuge in neighboring communities, and Kronenwetter officials want to make sure animals with a dangerous past don't make the village their new home.

Officials on March 4 during a meeting of the Kronenwetter Community Life and Public Safety Committee reviewed the village's existing vicious animal laws and compared them to Wausau's ban on dogs or cats that have bitten or attacked people.
