Sloppy, dreary weather approaches

Expect a wintery mix of snow, sleet and rain to move through central Wisconsin today, say National Weather Service meteorologists.

Their forecast calls for a chance of snow and sleet before 9 a.m., then rain and snow, possibly mixed with sleet until noon.

As the temperature eeks up after noon, forecasters say the precipitation should turn over to rain, and areas of fog could settle in. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation is predicted to be about a half of an inch.

The high temperature is expected to reach 36, with southeast winds gusting as high as 18 mph.

Forecasts call for the rain to continue on Sunday morning, with fog likely.

Temps should drop to around 32 degrees by noon, with the rain expected to turn to snow.
