'Fore' sale: Brown County may sell land next to golf course

Some Brown County leaders want to turn land planned for greens - as in golf - into green, as in money.

A proposal before county lawmakers would put about 80 acres of land next to the county golf course up for sale as a way to bring money into county coffers. A committee of county supervisors on Thursday recommended hiring an appraiser in anticipation of selling the land.

"The land was originally purchased with the expectation of an expanded golf course," said Wrightstown Supervisor John Van Dyck, who suggested the sale. "But it seems highly unlikely now that we would do that." ...
