ALEC influences state legislation

If you are unaware of the influence of ALEC, the American Legislative Exchange Council, I urge you to read the readily accessible online information about its role in Wisconsin legislation, including the current debate on school vouchers.

Many Wisconsin voters think that the ideas that shape Wisconsin are coming from state legislators, when in reality, the ideas are coming from ALEC, a powerful national organization funded by large corporations, which includes in its membership Gov. Scott Walker and the Fitzgerald brothers.

Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, "Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education." Please educate yourself so that you understand how ALEC is affecting all Wisconsin citizens.
