Sen. Ron Johnson, who had never run for office before upsetting incumbent Democrat Russ Feingold in 2010, is making plans to keep his Senate seat.

The Oshkosh Republican and former plastics manufacturing company president recently met with a "kitchen cabinet" of GOP strategists in Washington and told the group he intends to run for re-election in 2016, according to a story Sunday in The Hill.

Johnson spokeswoman Mary Vought confirmed the senator is preparing to seek a second six-year term. ...
