Nickname: Warriors.

Coach: John Gaier (230-38, 11th season).

Enrollment: 319.

Miles from Resch Center: 157.

Season record: 26-0 (18-0, Eastern Cloverbelt Conference, first).

State appearance: Fourth.

Last time at state: 2012 (Won D4 title over Oshkosh Lourdes, 52-42).

Notes: After winning the D4 title with an undefeated season last year, the Warriors move into D3 riding a 54-game winning streak. … Since making its first state appearance in 2006, Neillsville has been in the D2, D3 and D4 fields. It returns to D3, where it played in the 2007 state tournament. … The only game the Warriors haven’t won by double digits this season was their season opener against Owen-Withee and its sectional final victory against Ladysmith was the first time it was held under 40 points. … Neillsville has a pair of three-year starters at guard in junior Jennifer Lindner (15.1 points per game) and senior Caitlynne Naughton (7.6 ppg). … Lindner, the Cloverbelt-East Conference player of the year, is being pursued by mid-major DI colleges. … First-year starters include senior Lindsey Opelt (7.8 pgg), and juniors Katelyn Crothers (6.7 ppg) and Molly Attoe (5.8 ppg), who is the team’s top post player. … Senior forward Alleah Voigt was a starter on last year’s team but tore an anterior cruciate ligament over the summer and has returned to play in eight games at the end of the season.

Coach’s take: On point guard Jennifer Lindner, “Her vision is just outstanding. She sees things on the floor that other kids don’t see as well.”
