SimCity -- one of the oldest and most successful computer game series -- has just been rebooted.

A much-needed makeover of the open-ended city building simulation takes advantage of today's powerful computers, larger monitors and online friends but without messing with what made its predecessor (and sequels) a fun and challenging digital diversion for micromanagers.

While prettier, Maxis' SimCity also retains the depth of previous versions. In fact, because there's so much to see and do in this building sim, consider this review a "first impressions" look at the game rather a deep dive. ...
