Contract with consulting firm runs through end of the year

De Pere Fire Rescue will be in transition with its leadership in the coming weeks. Bob Kiser is retiring as fire chief as of April 12 and will be replaced on an interim basis by Menasha consulting firm RW Management Group Inc., led by veteran public safety administrator Jeff Roemer.

The city of De Pere didn't take much time to find a leader for its fire department - at least on a temporary basis.

The Common Council last week unanimously approved the staff recommendation to hire RW Management Group Inc., a Menasha-based public management consulting firm, to oversee De Pere Fire Rescue on an interim basis.

Bob Kiser, who has been the De Pere fire chief since 2003, announced his retirement last month. Kiser's last day with the city is April 12. ...
