School Board approves charter school grant

The Stevens Point Area Public School Board voted unanimously Monday to allow the district to submit an expeditionary charter school planning grant to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

The grant, which now is scheduled to be submitted to the DPI on April 10, would be for $675,000 during three years. According to a timeline provided to the board, approval of the grant would be received in August.
