Mayville fire destroys home

A Wednesday morning fire destroyed a Mayville home and displaced its owners in 19 degree weather after firefighters spent about two hours fighting the blaze.

Firefighters responded around 6:40 a.m. to a home at 430 N. Walnut Street on March 13 and encountered flames and smoke coming from the front of the home on the second story and in the attic.

There were no injuries, but the home was considered a total loss, Mayville Fire Chief Brad Marx said. ...
