Standard & Poor's Rating Service affirmed Bellin Health's long-term bond rating as "A."
The rating indicates the system's financial outlook is stable. S&P said it indicates "Bellin will continue to move forward with its strategic plan and prepare for the effects of the health care reform bill while operating profitably and further strengthening its balance sheet."
Credit ratings give potential buyers of debt securities - such as bonds - an idea of potential risk. Ratings above BBB for Standard & Poor's are considered investment grade. Ratings range from AAA, which is the highest grade, to C, the lowest.
