Workers lament looming Kewaunee plant closure

Optimism was nowhere to be found Wednesday night at an informal meeting of Kewaunee Power Station workers with many set to lose their jobs over the next couple years as Dominion, the nuclear plant owner, ceases operations May 7.

"I don't want to inject false hope ... I think it will shut shut down," said Brian "Bucky" Ihlenfeldt, who booked a conference room at Fox Hills Resort to share economic impact information of the pending closure and brainstorm any possible last-minute strategies that might keep the plant going. About 50 people were in attendance.
