Editor: More than 300 students from Marshfield High School and Columbus Catholic High School attended Xtreme Xploration on Feb. 26 at the University of Wisconsin-Marshfield/Wood County.

Students were on campus in a morning or afternoon session to participate in an interview with a business professional; attend a resource fair, including financial aid and scholarship information; participate in a panel discussion on ethics and college life; and explore post-secondary education opportunities.

Courtney Bauer, a Marshfield High School junior, attended the event and said, "The interview and resume review will help me be better prepared for future interviews and talking with representatives from various colleges at the event was a great way to get information. The student panel was also helpful to hear how students handled issues we're going to face very soon. After attending Xtreme Xploration, I feel better prepared for my future."

This annual event is an initiative of Marshfield Sunrise Rotary Club's Vocational Avenue of Service, in collaboration with the School District of Marshfield, Columbus Catholic Schools, UW-Marshfield/Wood County, Mid-State Technical College, Pathway Partners Mentoring Program and MACCI and is sponsored by Central City Credit Union. The Xtreme Xploration committee consists of leaders from these organizations who are dedicated to engaging students in career and education exploration. Thank you to all who made Xtreme Xploration a success.
