Before the Assumption girls basketball team took the floor at the Resch Center Thursday morning, Hannah Skibba told her teammates that any nerves they might be feeling individually could be overcome if they stuck together as a team.

The advice from the Royals lone senior worked.

Junior Mary Sigler had 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, and freshman Gena Grundhoffer added 15 points as the Royals trailed for just 26 seconds in a 60-37 win over Newman Catholic in a WIAA Division 5 semifinal which avenged their only loss of the year. ...
