On Saturday, more than 340 young musicians will enliven the Wisconsin winter with beautiful performances of both classical and contemporary works. Youth Orchestra will open the concert series at 7 p.m. Saturday with audience favorites including movements from Bizet's "Carmen Suite," Strauss's "Die Fledermaus" and Prokofiev's Symphony No. 7. Local resident Sonia Urquidi performs with Youth Orchestra.

At 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sinfonietta will perform pieces including Grusel's "A Wisconsin Tableau," whose four movements create a musical exploration of our state's history and landmarks. Concert Orchestra will treat the audience to Grieg's "Norwegian Dances" and Smith's "The Great Steamboat Race."
