Trial avoided in Fond du Lac domestic abuse case

The trial of a 38-year-old Fond du Lac man was canceled Wednesday morning after he pleaded no contest to two felony charges related to a May 2012 domestic incident involving a Fond du Lac woman.

Kevin Jones, 199 Fifth St., is charged with substantial battery and disorderly conduct, both with a domestic abuse modifier, and two counts of bail jumping.

Jones was arrested for the assault in May and received a $50,000 cash bond. It was reduced to $1,000 in January. A three-day jury trial was scheduled for March 13-15, but was canceled after Jones made the no contest pleas on the morning of jury ...
