"It was the longest five seconds of my life," said Nathan Barnes, a 25-year-old police intern who was blasted by a 50,000-volt Taser.

Barnes was hit in the back by the stun gun's dart-like electrodes, grimaced, stiffened and went down like a brick during a demonstration at the Manitowoc Police Department Citizens Academy on Tuesday evening.
