Alleah Voigt was on cloud nine after the 2012 WIAA State girls basketball tournament, having helped Neillsville win a Division 4 state championship.

She was a standout that weekend and saw her stock rise with colleges thanks to her steady play and a combined 15 points and 16 rebounds in two victories. Securing a scholarship offer in July from NCAA Division II UW-Parkside was exciting for the then-junior, who had a full ride in hand before her senior year was under way.

Five days later in a summer league tournament, things drastically changed, as she suffered an athlete's worst nightmare - a torn ...
