Wausau to revisit Exhibitour alcohol rules

A Wausau committee will on Monday again consider allowing Exhibitour participants to walk the streets of downtown Wausau carrying glasses of wine.

Exhibitour gives attendees the chance to stroll from business to business while sampling wine and food and viewing works of art. The event, which is put on by Wausau Area Events and attracts about 2,000 people each year, will be held on the evening of May 18.

The Exhibitour planning committee has requested the waiver from the ban on consuming alcohol in public streets every year since 2010. The Wausau City Council denied the request in 2010 but ...
