Schofield City Council, mayor receive raises

The Schofield City Council on March 12 amended its 2013 budget to adjust for raises for the mayor and council members after initially planning a wage freeze for those officials.

The raises for the mayor and council members total about $5,000 and will come from the city's fund balance, said Schofield Clerk-Treasurer Lisa Reeves.

During a Dec. 11 regular meeting, council members voted against a proposed wage freeze for all full- and part-time employees plus elected officials, even though the freeze already was part of the 2013 budget, which was approved by the council Nov. 20. ...
