Local ginseng groups feud over logo

The Wausau-based Ginseng Board of Wisconsin is in a feud with the American Ginseng Association of Marathon, claiming the Marathon organization is violating federal law by using a trademark that is too similar to its own.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday in federal court, the GBW, a trade association of Wisconsin ginseng growers, says it began to use its trademark in 1991 and registered it with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in 1993.
