EDITOR: What a sad ending to a great career of service to the community by Marathon County Sheriff Randy Hoenisch. We all know of someone, could be someone we love or a friend, neighbor or relative, who fell through the cracks of a normal life. All we can do is say extra prayers for our sheriff so he can be a survivor. His family needs him to be strong. He needs to know we are there for him.

The feeling of being helpless while seeing a loved one descend into their private hell is extremely frightening. We don't know how to fix what went wrong and don't know what to say to someone like our sheriff. A card showing we care would help to know we understand his pain.

Anne Brown,

Wausau
