Committee set to advance pay plan for county employees

All Wood County employees would get a 1 percent raise, as part of a wage plan advanced by a county committee formed to make compensation recommendations.

During its January meeting, the County Board approved a proposal to form an ad hoc committee to study how to handle employee compensation. Many employee groups were traditionally represented by unions, but those unions didn't go through the state-mandated process of certification and are no longer directly involved in the negotiations.
