Severt's Fine Foods owner follows family's footsteps (with video)

If the name Severt's Fine Foods sounds familiar, it is because owner Mike Fitzgerald of Spencer followed in the footsteps of his aunt and uncle, Betty and Bill Severt, who owned the former Marshfield restaurant with the same name that closed in 2003.

"I remember being there when I was a little kid and pushing a stool up to the sink to start washing dishes," he said. "I was brought up in a restaurant."

Fitzgerald fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a restaurant in December when he opened Severt's in the former Village Spirits location in Stratford. ...
