It was an almost universal reaction - a hand rubbing a newly hairless scalp.

Participants in the annual shaving fest to help the St. Balrdick's Foundation raise money for childhood cancer research said they were elated to give their hair for the cause.

Many had spent months growing out the hair on their head, and in some cases their face, just for Saturday's event. ...
