Big crowds at Resch Center take in 3 Green Bay-area teams winning gold

Green Bay-area teams went three for three on Championship Saturday but it was the Resch Center that might have been the biggest winner this weekend.

When the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association voted last year to move the state girls basketball tournament to Ashwaubenon for a two-year experiment, it was seen as a potential economic boon for the Green Bay area. But how long the tournament would stay here would largely depend on how many fans showed up.

If this weekend's attendance is any indication - 39,731 attended - the 37-year-old tournament might have found a permanent home ...
