March 18, 1953 - Nine grandstand bids submitted to county: Nine bids for construction of a new grandstand and razing the present at the county fairgrounds were in the office of County Clerk John P. Holloway by the deadline at 10 a.m. today. In addition, five bids were received for painting the interior and exterior of the exhibition building at the fairgrounds.

The bids will be opened at 8 o'clock tonight at the fairgrounds by the county board's fair properties committee. The committee is hopeful that contracts for the 4,500-capacity grandstand can be let in time to permit completion of the structure by fair time in August.
